Application Process

Are references required in the EOI?

No. References are not required at the EOI stage. If you choose to include references, they must be contained within the word limit for the project description.

Can I apply for more funding than the advertised grant amount?

No, applications must not request funding above the maximum amount specified for the grant category. Applications that exceed the advertised funding limit will be deemed ineligible and will not be considered for assessment. This requirement also applies to sponsored grants, which must remain within the funding amount specified for that grant.

How do I lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a research grant?

EOIs can only be submitted through the online portal linked on the Foundation's website. The opening and closing dates of the annual grant process are available on the website.  Please ensure all required fields are completed before submission. Late submissions will not be accepted.

What happens after submitting an EOI?

All EOIs are reviewed for shortlisting by a multidisciplinary panel of ICU clinician researchers. All EOI applicants will be notified of the outcome of this review.  If your EOI is shortlisted, you will be invited to submit a full project application. You will be asked then to provide more detailed information, including a full project team, comprehensive budget, and supporting documentation.
