David Tuxen has been working in Intensive Care for 42 years. He is a past Director of Intensive Care at The Alfred and Albury Wodonga Health and is currently Director of Intensive Care in Northeast Health Wangaratta. David is best known for his expertise in mechanical ventilation.

After 14 years on ANZICS committees culminating in President of ANZICS, he then served as Chairman of the Intensive Care Foundation for 6 years (1997-2003) and followed as a board member for a further 5 years (2004-8). He was reappointed to the ICF Board in 2014-19.

David became Chairman of the Intensive Care Foundation Fundraising Committee in 2022 and has returned to the ICF Board in 2024.
