Grants Program

Since our founding, the Intensive Care Foundation has been committed to funding groundbreaking research and supporting the professional development of clinicians and educators in critical care.

Our grants enable ICU specialists and healthcare teams to explore new treatments, validate innovative ideas, and achieve key breakthroughs that transform patient care. The research we support helps improve clinical practices, shape healthcare policies, and enhance outcomes for critically ill patients across Australia and New Zealand.

Each year, our grants are awarded to projects that demonstrate scientific excellence and the potential to make a real impact on patient outcomes. We also focus on promoting equity within the ICU workforce, helping develop future leaders in research and education.

Whether it's exploring new approaches to sepsis management, ventilator care, or patient rehabilitation, the research funded by the Intensive Care Foundation is at the forefront of critical care innovation.

The Foundation’s support extends to early-career researchers and educators, offering them opportunities to build their skills, grow their careers, and contribute to the field’s advancement. By investing in their work, we ensure that the next generation of ICU experts is equipped to push the boundaries of what is possible in critical care. The research we fund today leads to the life-saving treatments of tomorrow, ensuring that critically ill patients receive the best care possible.

These grants recognise and celebrate those making outstanding contributions to clinical research and education in the field of intensive care. Each new grant contributes to the improvement of ICU care, providing hope to patients and families while fostering advancements that benefit the entire healthcare system. With a steadfast commitment to research and education, the Intensive Care Foundation will continue to drive advancements that make critical care more effective, innovative, and equitable for all.

With the ongoing support of donors and the wider community, we continue to expand our grant program.
