An intensive care nurse since 1996, Samantha further specialised as an intensive care clinical research nurse and is currently the Critical Care Research Nurse Manager at Western Health. In working with clinician researchers, she has gained extensive experience of coordinating clinical trials, many of which have been internationally recognised as influential, landmark trials.

She has held executive positions on clinical trial network committees and is a strong advocate for professional development and recognition of clinical research nurses. Samantha has commenced PhD study at The University of Melbourne, exploring cost-effective and sustainable methods for electrolyte replacement in ICU.
